As a follow up Josef Muller-Brockmann produced a second book titled Josef Muller-Brockmann- The Graphic Artist and his Design Problems. His new book is just as good as the first, with heaps of useful grid information, a must have resource for any designer. Treat yourself to a good read!

Josef Muller-Brockmann’s Grid Systems in Graphic Design: A Visual Communication Manual for Graphic Designers, Typographers and Three Dimensional Designers was first published in 1981, and it still a master peace today. The book gives great in-sight into the use and development of grid systems, showing you theory and his personal application. I suggest this book for any one interested in understand the function of grid system and paying a respect to man who influenced the world of design.

Ok Guys I just read an amazing book titled DAMN GOOD ADVICE (for people with talent!). I suggest that everyone with creative ambitions reads this book weather you want a career in it graphics, advertising, film or architecture. George Lois the man who wrote the book has such passion for his field of design communication. His success stories are inspiring especially his worth with MTV and Tommy Hilfiger. But the most inspiring part of George Lois’s book is his work with Muhammad Ali and Rubin “Hurricane” Carter. The other thing to note is his hatred for Mad Men.

So do your self a favor and have a read!

Yume Magazine is an independent bi-annual arts publication by two boys with a love for creativity from Geelong, Australia. It was created to serve as a platform for local up-and-coming artists, illustrators, photographers and designers to share their work around town in a nicely printed package, as well as a way for its founders to reach out to some of their favourite creative people and pick their brains!
